Run Batch

To access this screen:

Batch Processing Reports

In Studio Survey, you can either run reports directly, using one of the EOM reporting tools available on the Reports ribbon, or you can add a report to a queue for batch processing later. This facility is available to any report where no interaction with the 3D window is required.

This facility is currently only available for open pit survey scenarios.

The following tools have a batch processing option:

In each case, you set up a report (or publishing step) as normal, defining the scope of reporting (data, dates) and then, instead of calculating the associated cut and fill volumes and output evaluations, you select Add to Batch instead.

Once added, a report is displayed in the Run Batch task where it can join a queue of others. You can also manage the contents of the batch run here, including the order of tasks and task removal.

Using the Run Batch task

The Run Batch task displays a list of all tasks awaiting processing. These are shown in the Batch Tasks window.

Batch Task Visibility

Batch tasks in Detailed view

The image above shows an example of the default "Detailed view" used for displaying task information. It shows, for each numbered task, the parameters used to generate data and/or publish an EOM summary report.

By disabling Show task details below, you can show a summarized view of task titles only, for example:

Batch tasks in Summary view

Each task has a status:

  • Waiting: a task that hasn't been processed yet.
  • Running: a task being processed.
  • Failed: an error occurred processing a task. More details can be found in the Errors column.
  • Succeeded: the task has been completed.

Running a Batch

All batched tasks are run in the order listed.

If you only need to run a subset of batched tasks, you need to Delete the unwanted items from the list beforehand.

To start batch processing, click Run All.

Once tasks are completed, you can view the respective output and reports by returning to the appropriate EOM task panel and loading/viewing the Results.

Modifying the Batch List

You can adjust the contents of the batch list by reordering or removing items (items can only be added by an EOM report task).

New batch items are added to the bottom of the list by default, but you can move them further up the list or demote items higher in the list using the Move Up and Move Down.

Batch items are processed in increasing number order, starting at 1.

To remove a batch task from the list, select it and click Delete. Alternatively, you can clear the list using the Delete All option.

Handling Errors

Should the batch processing run encounter an error, for example, missing input data or unexpected parameters, you can either:

  • Move on to the next task (Stop on error is disabled) or;
  • Cancel batch processing for the current and all subsequent reports (Stop on error is enabled).
